Day Trip In The Park LA: Joseph Capriati, Toman, Cole Terrazas
Day Trip In The Park LA at Los Angeles State Historic Park, Sunday 7am to 7pm, free entry, Joseph Capriati anchoring the bill with Toman and Cole Terrazas. The park-format day party has been a steady Southern California summer fixture and Capriati in daylight is a different proposition than the late festival sets, the Italian playing the longer, more melodic register the records started in. The State Historic Park setting is one of the better LA open-air sites. Bring sunscreen and water. Memorial weekend timing pulls the bigger crowd.

Twerk EP Release: Agora In-Store Session
Twerk EP release at Agora Records, Thursday 2pm, free entry, in-store session for the Native Boundaries label. James Lauer, Lucid Distraction, and SASO trading high-energy electro across the afternoon. Agora has been one of the more reliable independent LA record stores running these in-store DJ formats over the last couple of years and the electro and ghetto-tech bookings have stayed sharp. Worth the trip for the records on the shelves alone. Bring cash. The shop runs until late on these nights.

De Former₋₄
De Former at Water and Power on South Grand on Thursday 1pm, free entry, Hidhawk performing in an improvised distortion series that runs forty minutes. The space has been hosting these short-format experimental performances on weeknights and the De Former series is the looser, more open-ended of the recent commissions. Free street parking. The forty-minute runtime makes this a viable detour rather than a commitment. Worth the trip for the kind of work that does not survive a longer set.
